Scott Wortman is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in the education sector. Currently serving as the Director of Internal and Member Communications at AASA, The School Superintendents Association since July 2025, Wortman previously held the position of Senior Director of Communications at Battelle for Kids, where impactful strategic communications were developed for an education non-profit. Wortman’s experience also includes roles as Chief Communications and Engagement Officer for Columbus City Schools, overseeing communications and stakeholder engagement for Ohio's largest school district, and Supervisor of Communications for Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District. Earlier career highlights include various positions at Wake Forest University leading athletic communications, as well as media relations internships with the Charlotte Knights and South Bend Cubs. Wortman holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from Ohio Northern University and a Master's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.
