Ajit Deshpande

Ajit Deshpande is the CSO & Director, Engineering at Abacus.AI. Ajit has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on business systems and application development. Ajit has held senior positions at Sumo Logic, Zuora, and Abacus.AI.

Ajit has a proven track record of leading technical teams and executing complex projects. Ajit was the VP, Head of IT and Business Systems at Sumo Logic, where they were responsible for the entire stack of Zuora’s business technology, including technology selection, implementation, internal support, and strategy for go-to-market initiatives. Ajit also led the technical due diligence for Zuora’s acquisition of Leeyo Software in 2017.

At Zuora, Ajit served as Sr. Director - Head of Business Systems, overseeing a global rollout of the enterprise HRIS platform. Ajit also evangelized the company's flagship products to external customers and internal product management teams. Ajit was instrumental in preparing Zuora for its IPO, leading the end-to-end analysis and ownership of a highly complex ASC 606 revenue recognition standard.

Ajit holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Pune and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Xavier Institute of Management.

Ajit Deshpande has a MS in Engineering from Louisiana State University. Ajit also has certification from FinOps Foundation in FinOps Practitioner, The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Managerial Finance, Coursera in Decision-Making and Scenarios, Coursera in Business Metrics for Data-Driven Companies, Technology Business Management Council in Technology Business Management Executive, and The Open Group in TOGAF.

Ajit Deshpande reports to Bindu Reddy, CEO. They work with Arvind Sundararajan - CTO, Siddartha Naidu - VP, Machine Learning and Research, and Ankit Khare - Head of Content & Developer Relations (AI Technologist).
