Paul Ponzeka, CISSP

Paul Ponzeka, CISSP, has an extensive work experience spanning over 15 years. Paul most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at Abacus Group starting in August 2018. In this role, they were responsible for managing the entire technology stack for the MSP activity and overseeing the implementation and migration of new clients. Prior to this, Paul worked as the Managing Director, Engineering at Abacus Group from February 2012 to August 2018. Here, they were the chief system architect and managed a 22-member engineering department. Paul designed and implemented various technologies, including Zerto for virtual machine redundancy and disaster recovery scenarios, and supported a Hosted Exchange MSP hosting over 3,000 mailboxes.

Before joining Abacus Group, Paul worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Davidson Kempner Capital Management from March 2009 to February 2012. Paul also served as an Engineer at Eze Castle Integration from November 2007 to March 2009, a Network Administrator at Blumenfeld Development Group from July 2007 to November 2007, and a Network Administrator at E.R. Quinn Co from December 2004 to July 2007.

Paul Ponzeka, CISSP, obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Informations Management and Philosophy from the University of Scranton, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. In February 2020, they also acquired the certification of Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)².
