Joaquim Cerqueira

Joaquim Cerqueira is the COO at ABAKA. Joaquim has over 18 years of experience in the financial industry.

Joaquim started their career at Credit Agricole CIB - Paris as the Head of Client-Driven Delta One Trading. There, they were responsible for the creation and management of the client-driven Delta One and Electronic Market Making trading desk. Joaquim also successfully set up an exclusive partnership with Amundi ETF, scaling the Assets Under Management from <1B€ to 5B€, and the ETF listings from 0 to 200 listings on 5 exchanges.

In 2013, they joined BNP Paribas as part of the Global Markets - Trading team. There, they worked on Equity Derivatives (Delta One) Trading and business development (emerging markets). Joaquim also helped improve the G10 Rates Trading Risk and Strategy framework by implementing new risk metrics and pricing, profitability analysis, and stress testing.

Joaquim has been with ABAKA since June 2021 and currently serves as its COO.

Joaquim Cerqueira is an engineer with a focus in financial mathematics. Joaquim attended École Polytechnique and Lycée Louis le Grand. Joaquim is certified by the AMF, Eurex Deutschland, HKSI - Hong Kong Securities Institute, and JSDA - Japan Securities Dealers Association.

Joaquim Cerqueira reports to Fahd Rachidy, Founder & CEO. They work with Karl Van Sielman - Nudge Director, Kenzo Hudelot - Head of Delivery, and Nadia K. - Commercial Director.
