Gunel Bakhshiyeva

Gunel Bakhshiyeva began their work experience in 2009 as a Legal and Administrative Assistant at The Coca-Cola Company. Gunel worked in this role until September 2011. In 2012, they joined Grata Law Firm as a Legal Counsel, staying until December 2013. From December 2013, Gunel worked at The International Bank of Azerbaijan, starting as a Senior Finance Lawyer and eventually becoming the Deputy Legal Director and Head of International Transactions and Litigation. As of April 2020, Gunel holds the position of Director of the Legal Department at The International Bank of Azerbaijan.

Gunel Bakhshiyeva holds a Bachelor of Laws degree in International Law from Baku State University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Gunel then pursued a Master of Law and Economics, specializing in Ms Tax and Economics, at the University of Lausanne - UNIL from 2012 to 2014. Gunel completed a Distance Learning program in International Tax Law at Leiden University from 2017 to 2018. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a certificate in Swap and other OTC derivatives from Euromoney Learning in 2015 and completed a course on Financial Markets from Yale University in 2013. Gunel also participated in a program on International Tax Law at Leiden University College The Hague.
