Shekhar Venkat

Shekhar Venkat is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering, AI & Product Development at Abbott since August 2025, where responsibility includes spearheading AI-driven product development for the Heart Failure Portfolio. Prior to Abbott, Shekhar worked at Amazon from November 2017 to August 2025 in various senior technology roles, leading transformative initiatives for Alexa, including the privacy-first LLM-powered AI platform and key programs for accessibility and health subscriptions. Previous experience includes a Senior Software Engineering Manager position at Alaska Airlines, managing digital transformations, and a Senior Software Development Manager role at Dow Jones, overseeing a significant digital transformation project. Early career experience includes managing Allstate's digital claims transformation initiative. Shekhar holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation Technology from the University of Madras (1999-2003).
