Edgars Jecs

Edgars Jecs is a Senior Scientist at AbbVie since 2021, specializing in the multistep organic synthesis of small molecule CXCR4 antagonists and dual-tropic CXCR4/CCR5 antagonists, as well as the optimization of oral drug properties and synthesis of anti-RSV agents. Previously, Edgars held positions as a Scientist and Postdoctoral Associate at Emory University from 2015 to 2021, focusing on organic synthesis and drug property optimization. Edgars completed a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University at Buffalo and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Organic Chemistry from Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte.
