Kausar Alam

Kausar Alam is a highly experienced Principal Research Scientist-I in Multispecific Antibody Engineering at AbbVie since September 2025. Previously, Kausar served as Scientific Associate Director at Takeda from July 2022 to September 2025, leading a team focused on the design and formatting of antibody variable domains into various drug modalities. Prior to this role, Kausar was a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, where responsibilities included engineering and validating novel molecular entities, especially for complex diseases like cancer and inflammation, while advancing bispecific antibody therapeutics. Kausar's academic background includes a PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Saskatchewan and postdoctoral research focused on antibody engineering and characterization at multiple institutions, including the University of Toronto and the University of Saskatchewan. Kausar's educational journey also includes a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Lund University and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from Khulna University.
