Pavel Elkin

Pavel Elkin is a Senior Scientist II at AbbVie since June 2018, specializing in the design and synthesis of novel drug-like compounds for oncology, utilizing crystallographic data and molecular modeling tools. Pavel has experience in metabolism-guided drug design and the preparation of patent applications for new pharmaceutical ingredients. Prior to this role, Pavel worked as a Senior Scientist I in the Oncology Synthesis Group at AbbVie and held various academic positions, including Harper Core Tutor and Research Assistant at the University of Chicago, where Pavel earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Pavel also completed a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia.
