Catherine Socha has a comprehensive background in biological sciences, with a focus on immunity and physiology. Initial experiences include BSc internships at the National Center for Biological Sciences and Laboratoires CLARINS, where Catherine investigated muscle stem cell regulation and the toxicity of cosmetics on human skin, respectively. This was followed by an MSc 1 project at the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire studying immune responses to malaria, and an MSc 2 project focusing on intestinal immunity and host-pathogen interactions using Drosophila melanogaster. Catherine's PhD research involved studying intestinal host defenses against bacterial infections, revealing novel resilience mechanisms. Following the completion of the doctorate, work at Abcam included roles as an Associate Scientist and Scientist in imaging and antibody validation, culminating in the position of Senior Scientist, which began in January 2024. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a Research Doctorate, all obtained from the University of Strasbourg.
