Jennifer K.

Jennifer K. has a diverse work experience primarily in the biotechnology and research fields. Jennifer started their career as a Career Development Fellow at the Medical Research Council, where they conducted investigative studies using mice to model primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) and conducted molecular biology techniques. Jennifer then progressed to an Investigator Scientist role at the same organization, where they continued their research on primary ciliary dyskinesia and left-right patterning.

In 2018, Jennifer joined Horizon Discovery as a Senior R&D Scientist in the Diagnostic Reference Standards department. Here, they focused on designing and developing products compliant with quality standards, scoping and executing customer-led projects, and troubleshooting and improving Off-The-Shelf and Made-To-Order processes. In 2020, they were promoted to the role of R&D Manager, where they led innovation for new product introductions and influenced the strategic plan and product roadmap. In 2022, they advanced to the position of Senior R&D Manager, responsible for overseeing the development of cell-line derived FFPE DNA/RNA, cell free DNA, genomic DNA, and formalin compromised DNA reference standards.

Jennifer is currently working at abcam as the Head of Product Quality, a role they started in 2023.

Jennifer K. has a strong educational background in the field of Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of East Anglia, completing their studies from 2002 to 2006. Jennifer went on to pursue a higher level of education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the same field from the University of East Anglia, graduating between 2007 and 2011.
