Rob Burns

Substitute Teacher at ABERDEEN SCHOOL DISTRICT

Rob Burns has a diverse work experience, starting in 1995 as a "Jack of all trades" at The Weekly Calistogan, a weekly newspaper in Northern Napa Valley. Rob then worked at The Daily World as a Sports writer from 1998 to 2015 before becoming the Sports Editor from 2015 to 2017. Concurrently, they were a student and substitute teacher in the CTE teaching program at Central Washington University from 2017 to 2018. Rob also worked at the Aberdeen School District as a Head Swim Coach and later as a Middle School Technical Arts/Publications teacher. Additionally, they served as a Substitute Teacher at Aberdeen School District and Hoquiam School District. Lastly, they worked at Wishkah Valley School District as a CTE-Journalism/Publications and P.E. Teacher from 2018 to 2021.

Rob Burns attended Central Washington University from 2017 to 2018 where they obtained a CTE Certification - Route 2 (Industry). Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from California State University-Sacramento between 1991 and 1994. Rob also completed an Associate's Degree in Journalism from Solano Community College from 1989 to 1991. In January 2019, Rob obtained a certification as a Teacher, Initial Career And Technical Education from the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
