Hazel Friel

Hazel Friel currently serves as the Head of SEND Support at Abingdon and Witney College since December 2020. Prior to this role, Hazel worked at Buckinghamshire College Group, holding positions as Curriculum Manager and SENCO for Foundation Learning, Future Life, and ESOL, as well as Course Leader and Lecturer in Health and Social Care and Early Years from March 2015 to December 2020. Hazel also has experience as a Quality Improvement Partner at the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) and as a Child and Adult Workforce Teacher with Buckinghamshire County Council. Hazel owned Early Years Business from September 2009 to July 2014 and served as a mentor with PACEY from May 2011 to March 2014. Earlier career roles included managerial positions at Quintiles and Innovex. Hazel's educational qualifications include a National Award for SEN Coordination from Middlesex University and various teaching certifications and specialized training relevant to education and SEND.
