Hugh Magen has a long history of working in research and design engineering, starting with their role as an R&D Engineer for US Surgical (Vascular Therapies) in 1998. Hugh then moved to Progressive Angioplasty Systems in the same year, where they held the same position. In 1999, they took a role as an R&D Project Engineer at Stellartech Research. In 2002, they became a Senior Project Engineer at Coapt Systems. In 2005, they were a Senior Director of R&D at Rubicor Medical. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Medical Device R&D Engineering Consultant (self-employed). From 2010 to 2012, they were a Vice President of R&D at AEGEA Medical, Inc. In 2021, they became the Chief Technology Officer at May Health and the Vice President of R&D (AEGEA) at CooperSurgical.
Hugh Magen received a MS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Davis between 1995 and 1997. Hugh also received a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia between 1986 and 1990.
