Katlin Kreamer-Tonin

Product Manager at ABLE Human Motion

Katlin Kreamer-Tonin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries.

Starting in 2008, they worked as a Gymnastics Coach at KW Gymnastics Club until 2012. During this time, they trained and coached gymnasts.

In 2013, they worked as a Sports Video Technician at KW Gymnastics Club, where they recorded and edited videos of gymnastic performances.

In the same year, they also worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Waterloo. Here, they conducted experiments and assisted with research on chocolate viscosity and soy protein recovery.

In 2014, Katlin worked as a QA Engineering Intern at Unitron Hearing, where they implemented and performed manual tests for audiology fitting software.

From 2014 to 2017, they also worked as a Residence Advisor at the University of Toronto, where they provided support and guidance to students living in university residences.

In 2015, they held two internship roles. Firstly, as an R&D Intern at Spinesonics Medical Inc., where they assisted with the development of an ultrasound transducer for spinal surgeries. Secondly, as a Research Intern at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, where they worked on developing applications for a Smart Home for the elderly.

In 2015, they also started working at Synaptive Medical as a Biomedical Engineer, where they executed various roles. Firstly, as a Biomedical Engineer PEY from September 2015 to August 2016. Secondly, as a System Test Specialist, Junior from August 2017 to March 2018. Lastly, as a System Test Specialist, Product Lead from March 2018 to July 2019. In these roles, they were involved in the design, testing, and validation of medical devices for neurosurgery.

Lastly, Katlin has most recently worked as a Biomedical Engineer at ABLE Human Motion since January 2021. Katlin is currently working as a Product Manager and was involved in designing a lower-limb robotic exoskeleton for people with spinal cord injuries as part of their master's thesis.

Katlin Kreamer-Tonin pursued their education from 2012 to 2017 at the University of Toronto, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering in Engineering Science with a focus on Biomedical Systems Engineering. Later, in 2019, they enrolled at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and completed their Master's degree in Medical Engineering by 2021.
