Edo van Uitert

Edo van Uitert has extensive experience in data science, particularly in the financial sector, with a current role as Principal Data Scientist and Team Lead in Detecting Financial Crime at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Since joining in January 2018, Edo has developed a cornerstone transaction monitoring model and contributed significantly to the integration of advanced analytics within the bank. Prior to ABN AMRO, Edo served as a Research Associate at University College London, leading international research teams, and held a postdoctoral position at the Argelander Institute for Astronomy, focusing on data quality control and scientific exploitation. Edo's academic background includes a PhD in Astronomy from Leiden University, complemented by a strong foundation in statistical techniques and data analysis from various roles in astronomy research.
