Janet Valentine

Janet Valentine has a diverse work experience in various roles within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Janet is currently serving as the Executive Director of Innovation and Research at The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI). Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Health Data and Digital Policy at ABPI. Before joining ABPI, Janet worked as a Challenge Director at Innovate UK, focusing on data-driven diagnostics and precision medicine. Janet has also held leadership positions at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and the Medical Research Council. Janet's early career includes roles at the UK Clinical Research Collaboration, NCRI | National Cancer Research Institute, The Institute of Cancer Research, and Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

Janet Valentine holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from UNSW. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology, also from UNSW. Janet completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Tasmania, where they earned a BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology.
