George Westervelt is currently the Head of Global High Yield and Head of US High Yield Research at abrdn, where they manage High Yield strategies. They have extensive experience in high yield finance, having previously served as a High Yield Portfolio Manager and Senior Credit Analyst at Standard Life Investments from 2008 to 2017, and as a High Yield Analyst at MFS Investment Management from 2005 to 2008. Early in their career, Westervelt held positions in private client wealth management and high yield credit sales at Citi from 1999 to 2004. They earned a BA in English from the University of Vermont between 1995 and 1999.
