Paolo Alonzi

Paolo Alonzi currently serves as the Head of Structuring and Operational Strategy at abrdn, with a tenure beginning in November 2023. In addition, Paolo is a Member of Court and Non-Executive Director at Edinburgh Napier University, also assuming the role of future Chair of the University Finance & Property Committee in 2023. Since January 2018, Paolo has been a Non-Executive Director at the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF), collaborating with industry leaders on strategic initiatives. Prior experience includes positions such as Group Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer at Sandstone Property Investment and Management, and a long-standing role at abrdn as Global Head of Real Estate Business Finance & Strategy, overseeing substantial real estate assets. Previous career highlights include tax management at PwC and accounting roles at Helen M Oliver. Paolo is a Chartered Accountant, having completed education with ICAS from 1993 to 1996.
