Sam Elsharkawy has extensive experience in maritime surveying and engineering, currently serving as Principal Surveyor-In-Charge at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) since September 2008. This role includes ensuring vessels and offshore structures comply with ABS classification standards through various surveys, including Annual, Special, Dry Docking, UWILD, and Statutory Surveys. Prior to ABS, Sam worked as a Project Engineer at Maridive Offshore Projects S.A.E. from November 2006 to February 2008 and as a Commercial Diver at Maridive from February 2003 to October 2006. Sam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, completed between 1998 and 2003, and has a high school diploma from Victoria College Alexandria, obtained from 1988 to 1998.
