Julius Kakunu

Julius Kakunu is an experienced product and credit manager with a strong background in financial services, currently serving as the Product Manager for Business Lending at Absa Bank Kenya since October 2022. Previously, Julius held the position of Credit Manager for SME & Business Banking at Absa Bank Kenya from August 2014 to August 2022, where responsibilities included credit application management, risk evaluation, and maintaining credit quality standards. Julius began a career at Barclays, progressing from Monitoring & Control Officer to Manager of Monitoring & Control, where key contributions included streamlining credit processes and reporting on financial performance metrics. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Kenya Methodist University, and a diploma in Banking and Financial Support Services from the College of Banking and Finance.
