Bheki Mkhize

Bheki Mkhize serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for ABSA Regional Operations since January 2025, where the focus is on developing compliance strategies to ensure regulatory adherence across Africa. Previously, Bheki acted as a South African Reserve Bank representative in the IAIS from 2019 to 2024, including a role as Chairperson of the IAIS Governance Working Group. Bheki also held the position of Head of Division at the South African Reserve Bank, overseeing regulatory and financial supervision for banks and insurance entities. Prior to that, Bheki spent 18 years at Standard Bank Group in various leadership roles, including Group Head of Business Continuity Management and Global Head of Risk Assurance. Bheki holds multiple degrees, including an MBA from Nelson Mandela University Business School and a certificate in Compliance Risk Management from the University of Johannesburg.
