Dr. Philile Mkhize

Dr. Philile Mkhize serves as the Chief Operations Officer - Technology at Absa Group since September 2023, following a tenure at Liberty Group South Africa where roles included Technology Executive for Retail and Corporate and Technology Divisional Executive for Corporate Functions from September 2019 to September 2023. Previous experience includes positions at Absa Group as Chief of Staff to the Group CIO, and various roles at Barclays, AEL Mining Services, and Vibes Interiors, where Dr. Mkhize managed technology delivery, corporate strategies, and led a multi-award-winning interior design studio. Dr. Mkhize co-founded CommuScore Credit Scoring and has held senior project and program management roles at Absa. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Entrepreneurship and Business Management and an MBA from California Intercontinental University, alongside executive development programs at Henley Business School and GIBS Business School.
