Harvey Naidoo

Harvey Naidoo has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Harvey started their career as a Senior Information Advisor at ESKOM in 1994, where they supported senior management information needs and drove IT-related initiatives. Harvey then joined IBM South Africa in 1997 as an IT Consultant, specializing in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. At IBM, they gradually moved into managing complex engagements and gained expertise in IT Management Process consulting.

In 2002, Harvey joined Absa as the Group Disaster Recovery Manager, where they implemented a comprehensive contingency strategy and managed a multi-million-rand Disaster Recovery Program. Harvey later joined NRG Consulting in 2006 as a Portfolio Manager, leading complex data migration projects for clients such as MTN, Mercedes Benz, and Absa.

Returning to Absa, Harvey took on the role of Technology Delivery Manager in 2010, overseeing the Enterprise Content Management and Workflow Centre of Excellence in the Retail and Business Banking division. Harvey then transitioned to a Senior Manager position at Deloitte in 2013, specializing in Data Analytics and managing engagements that focused on data governance, data management, and extracting insights.

Currently, Harvey works at Absa Group as the Head of Technology for the data management suite of services. Their responsibilities include building out and aligning services, platforms, and strategies to support data management and data-related tools.

Harvey Naidoo completed their National Diploma in Information Technology at Durban University of Technology from 1990 to 1994. Harvey then pursued their Bachelor of Technology in IT at the University of Johannesburg from 1995 to 1999.
