Naeem Nanabhay

Naeem Nanabhay currently serves as the Chief People Officer for Corporate Functions at Absa Group, a position held since November 2023. Previously, Naeem held multiple leadership roles within Absa Group, including Head of People & Culture for Absa Regional Operations, where responsibilities included managing the Human Capital strategy across ten markets in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean, and leading an HR team of approximately 100 professionals. Naeem also served as Head of People & Culture for Absa Group Enterprise Functions and held a similar position at Barclays, overseeing Human Resources for multiple African markets. Naeem holds an Honours Degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg, a BA in Psychology and Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Certificate from the Institute of Directors of South Africa, and completed a Programme for Leadership Development at IESE Business School.
