Ricardo Smith

Ricardo Smith serves as the Chief Investment Officer at Absa Investments, overseeing investment decision-making processes and leading investment teams to optimize asset management. Since February 2015, Ricardo has driven growth in assets under management while ensuring effective execution of trades and supporting various financial services. Previously, roles included Head of Investment Strategy at Absa Global Investment Solutions and Manager of Actuarial & Business Analytics at Absa Insurance Company. Ricardo contributes to the Actuarial Society of South Africa as Chairperson of the Convention Organising Committee and is a sessional lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand. Educational qualifications encompass a Fellowship from the Actuarial Society of South Africa, an International Executive Development Program from GIBS, and multiple degrees in Actuarial Science.
