Amer-Denis Akkad

Amer-Denis Akkad currently serves as the Head of Translational Research at Absci since August 2023. Prior to this role, Amer-Denis was involved with Bayer from October 2015 to July 2023, where functions included Scientific Lead for Tissue Repair and Director of the Joint Precision Cardiology Laboratory. Amer-Denis also held the position of Lab Head for Disease Genomics at Ruhr-University Bochum from April 2009 to September 2015. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from the International Graduate School of Neuroscience (2005-2009), a Laboratory Clinical Geneticist degree from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Humangenetik (2009-2015), and a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Ruhr University Bochum (2000-2005).
