James Hickman

James Hickman is an Associate Scientist I at Absci, where involvement includes developing cell-based assays for target validation within the Disease Biology Team. Prior experience spans over five years at Portland State University, managing a NIH-funded laboratory and integrating complex assays and multiomic analyses. James has also contributed to Bloodworks Northwest as a Hospital Inventory Specialist I, supporting emergency blood product deliveries. Additional roles include engaging in microbial metagenomics research at Oregon Health and Science University and providing biology education through tutoring and teaching positions. James holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Oregon Health & Science University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University.
