Iain Oswald, PhD has extensive work experience in scientific research and academia. Iain is currently serving as a Principal Scientist at Abstrax Tech, Inc since May 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Colorado State University from August 2017 to July 2019. Iain has also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas from August 2013 to August 2017. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at The University of North Texas from January 2009 to July 2013. Additionally, they gained valuable experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the NSF-REU Program in 2009, where they conducted research on luminescent silver and platinum complexes and investigated palladium complexes for potential applications. Prior to entering the field of scientific research, they worked as a Maintenance, Repairs and Operations personnel at The Center for Arts and Sciences in 2008. Iain also worked at Randall's Food Markets as a Cashier and Stocking Assistant from May 2007 to June 2008, where they received the Employee of the Month award.

Iain Oswald, PhD, received their Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Mathematics from the University of North Texas in 2010. Iain then went on to complete their Master of Science degree in Inorganic Chemistry at the same university from 2010 to 2013. Iain further pursued their education, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Dallas from 2013 to 2017. Prior to their college education, Iain Oswald completed their high school education at Brazoswood High School from 2001 to 2005.
