Vinay Kartha has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and bioinformatics. Vinay is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Gordian Biotechnology since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of a Postdoctoral Associate at Harvard University from November 2018 to June 2022, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard from February 2018 to June 2022.
Vinay also has experience as a Research Assistant at the Division of Computational Biomedicine, Boston University School of Medicine from May 2014 to February 2018. Vinay completed their Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Boston University in December 2017.
During their academic journey, they worked as a Rotation Student at the Collaborative Sciences Center of Emphasis (CSCoE) in 2014 and as a Research Assistant at the Boston University School of Medicine, Dept of Neurology from August 2012 to July 2013.
In addition, Vinay gained industry experience as a Summer Intern at Agios Pharmaceuticals in 2012, where they analyzed microarray data and performed R coding for SNP datasets. Vinay also worked on a project on Biological Database Analysis at Boston University from March 2012 to May 2012, where they built a website implementing the Clustered AGgregation Tool (CAGT) using various programming languages.
Vinay started their professional journey as an Intern at HealthCare Global in 2011. Throughout their career, they have gained expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, and data analysis.
Vinay Kartha has a strong educational background in the field of bioinformatics. Vinay began their academic journey at Bishop Cotton Boys' School from 1993 to 2007, where they obtained their ICSC and ISC degrees. After completing their secondary education, Vinay enrolled at People's Education Society Institute of Technology, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, graduating in 2011. Eager to further their knowledge and skills, they continued their studies at Boston University, earning a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from 2011 to 2013. Vinay ultimately completed their education at Boston University, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Bioinformatics from 2013 to 2017.
