Hannah Thomas

Hannah Thomas is a seasoned qualitative and mixed methods researcher with extensive experience in social policy and sociology. At Abt Associates since October 2014, Hannah has progressed through roles from Associate to Qualitative and Mixed Methods Principal, focusing on high-level research and evaluation. Prior to this, Hannah served as a Research Associate/Project Manager at the Institute on Assets and Social Policy, managing a longitudinal study involving 140 families. Earlier positions include research roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the City of Boston, where Hannah analyzed family dynamics in foreclosure situations. Hannah's foundational experience began at Coastal Enterprises, providing research and development assistance on various projects related to lending policies. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Social Policy and Sociology and a Master's degree in Geography from prestigious institutions such as Brandeis University and the University of Cambridge. Additionally, Hannah holds a certificate in Qualitative Impact Protocol Lead Evaluator from the University of Bath.
