Lashika Medagoda has a diverse and extensive work experience in various positions and industries. Starting with their most recent role, they joined Abyss Solutions Pty Ltd in January 2020 as the Head of Research and Development. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Robotics Engineer at the same company since November 2017.

Before joining Abyss Solutions, Lashika worked as a Robotics Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) from June 2015 to August 2017. Lashika then worked as a Postdoctoral Investigator at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution from February 2014 to April 2015.

Lashika's career started at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics, University of Sydney, where they served as a Technical Officer from May 2013 to January 2014. Lashika also worked as a PhD Scholar from 2008 to 2013 and as a Tutor / Casual Academic from March 2008 to November 2008 at the same institution.

In addition, Lashika gained work experience at Schneider Electric as a Work Experience Position from December 2006 to February 2007. Lashika also worked as a Vacation Care Instructor at YMCA Australia from April 2005 to December 2006 and as a Tutor at Ace Learning Centre from 2004 to 2006.

Lashika Medagoda's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Robotics from the University of Sydney, which was obtained from 2008 to 2013. Before that, Lashika obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechatronics and Space from the same university, from 2004 to 2007. Lashika also participated in the Rio Tinto Science Olympiad in 2003 for an Olympiad Training Course in Physics. Finally, Lashika completed their Higher School Certificate from Baulkham Hills High School between 1998 and 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Lashika obtained certifications in Machine Learning and Probabilistic Graphical Models from Coursera. The Machine Learning certification was obtained in July 2013, and the Probabilistic Graphical Models certification was obtained in June 2013.
