Lauren Adams

Lauren Adams has a strong background in communications and marketing. Lauren currently serves as the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing at AcademyHealth, where they develop and implements strategies to increase awareness and support for health services research. Prior to this, they were the Director of Communications and Public Relations at AcademyHealth, where they oversaw public relations and digital strategies to promote the value of health services research.

Before joining AcademyHealth, Lauren was the Head of Marketing and Communications at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, where they led the marketing and communications efforts for the Being Human festival, a national festival of humanities. Lauren also held the role of Marketing and Communications Manager at the same institution.

Lauren also has experience in public relations, having worked as a Senior Account Executive at GYMR Public Relations. In this role, they managed client accounts, developed communication materials, and secured media coverage. Lauren also served as an Adjunct Professor at American University, teaching a course on social marketing and health/risk communication.

In addition, Lauren worked as a Communications Consultant at P3 Strategies & Solutions, LLC, where they managed the Weather-Ready Nation campaign for NOAA. Lauren conceptualized and implemented communication plans to promote public preparedness and operational changes within the National Weather Service.

Earlier in their career, Lauren served as the Public Information Officer for the Nebraska State Legislature.

Lauren Adams pursued their education by completing a Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2000 to 2004. Later, they attended American University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Public Communication from 2010 to 2011.
