Senior Vice President, Impact & Global Talent Devleopment at Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

Kendra Carter has a diverse work experience in the media and entertainment industry. Kendra is currently the Senior Vice President of Impact & Global Talent Development at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Vice President of Talent Development & Inclusion Programs at the same organization from 2020 to 2023.

Kendra also has entrepreneurial experience as the CEO & Principal of The Karter Company, LLC since 2014. Their company provides consulting and producer services for media and streaming companies, focusing on multicultural and diverse talent.

In addition, Kendra worked as the Head of Talent & Strategic Partnerships at Reprsnt Media from 2016 to 2018. There, they oversaw creator talent strategy, developed partnerships, and launched a talent incubator to produce short-form content.

Earlier in their career, Kendra served as an Executive Producer of the NBCUniversal Short Film Festival from 2008 to 2016. Kendra also held the position of Director/Executive Producer of Talent Diversity Initiatives at NBCUniversal, where they oversaw talent development programs and strategic partnerships to foster diverse creative talent.

Before joining NBCUniversal, Kendra worked as a Senior Talent Development & Casting Executive at Spike TV from 2003 to 2008.

Throughout their career, Kendra Carter has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting and driving diversity awareness in the entertainment industry.

Kendra Carter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UCLA.
