Cesar Ramirez, MD, FACP is a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic where he graduated from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena as a Doctor of Medicine. After graduating, Dr. Ramirez completed a post-baccalaureate program in Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He then began his Internal Medicine Residency at University Medical Center LSUHSC in Lafayette, Louisiana and served as Internal Medicine Chief Resident.
As an Internist, his career began at Iberia Medical Center. He first served as a Staff Physician and later as Medical Director of the Hospitalist program for 8 years and Internal Medicine Chairman for 4 years.
Throughout his career as an Internal Medicine Physician, he has held many positions in Acute Care Hospitals, Long Term Acute Care Hospitals, Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Home Health. These positions include Medical Director, Medical Director of Quality and Pharmacy, Staff Physician, Hospitalist and Board of Directors Chairman and is currently the Corporate Medical Director at AMG. In 2019, he also became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Ramirez has worked continuously to further his experience and knowledge base in understanding and using the entire Healthcare Continuum to yield the best outcomes for his patients.
Between rounds and ringing phones, he enjoys the calm of his river side patio with his wife and three daughters accompanied by a generous portion of reggaeton and merengue music.
