Mariam Diop

Mariam Diop has gained work experience in various roles and organizations. In 2019, they worked as a Care Manager at Advance Care Alliance of New York, where they provided support to vulnerable adults and children with intellectual disabilities and autism. Mariam conducted interviews, wrote assessments, and prepared reports for legal purposes. From December 2020 to June 2021, Mariam worked as an Advocate Intern at ChildFund Alliance, where they advocated for objectives and marketing points with U.N. authorities. In 2017, they served as a Summer Associate Americorps Vista at ExpandED Schools, conducting visits to program sites, completing observations, and assisting in planning and running events. From 2015 to 2017, Mariam worked as a Case Manager at Acacia Network, conducting intake interviews, assisting clients in finding housing and employment, and counseling them on various issues. Mariam also maintained and updated case files. In 2012, they served as a United Nations Model at The Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College, attending conferences, conducting research, and collaborating on a comprehensive paper. In 2013, Mariam was an Investigator Intern at Legal Aid Society, performing criminal background checks, assisting in locating witnesses, and preparing cases for trial.

Mariam Diop has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations and Human Rights from Hunter College, which they completed in 2013. After that, they pursued a Master's degree in Global Affairs at New York University, specializing in International Development and Humanitarian Assistance/PeaceBuilding-Peacekeeping. Mariam is expected to complete their Master's degree in 2022. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Conflict Analysis from the University of Bridgeport in December 2015 and in Legal Investigation from The Legal Aid Society in June 2013.
