Alberto Gandini

CEO/Cofounder at Accel Diagnostics

Alberto Gandini has been involved in a variety of work experiences since 2001. Alberto began their career as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Houston, where they played a major role in the development and management of the group's research activities that resulted in $2.5M+ funding from the U.S. In 2008, they served an internship between US, China, and Malaysia Fisher's offices while pursuing their MBA at Thermo Fisher Scientific. During this time, they provided recommendations, supporting data, and implementation strategy to reduce cost of sourcing Thermo Fisher’s products across Asia. In 2009, they became a Senior Research Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2012, they became the CEO/Cofounder of Accel Diagnostics, LLC, a medical diagnostic company that develops and commercializes point-of-care diagnostic blood tests for the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions. Alberto also operates a CLIA High Complexity Lab, specialized in rapid PCR molecular test panels, including Urinary Tract Infection, Skin Wound Infection, Fungal Infection panels, and PCR COVID-19 PCR, Antigen, and Antibody tests.

Alberto Gandini received their MBA from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business in 2009, where they studied Finance, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship. Alberto obtained their Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Houston in 2001. Alberto also attended Università degli Studi di Milano, but did not receive a degree.
