Ryan Ayres

Ryan Ayres has a comprehensive work experience in the field of information security and cybersecurity. Ryan is currently working as a Sr Information Security Engineer at Accela since February 2021. Prior to that, they served as an Information Technology Security Specialist at First Solar from June 2020 to January 2021.

From June 2018 to March 2020, Ryan worked as a Senior Security Engineer at Best Western® Hotels & Resorts. In this role, they led the standardization of security for on-premise and cloud environments, integrated systems to streamline processes, served as a data custodian for multiple departments, and implemented role-based access controls.

Before joining Best Western, Ryan was a Senior Security Engineer at Apriva from November 2017 to May 2018. Ryan played a key role in implementing security in Azure migration for multiple regions, transitioning security appliances to a virtual environment, and maintaining vulnerability management programs for PCI compliance.

From July 2017 to November 2017, Ryan worked as a Senior Security Engineer at TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Here, they were responsible for identifying and implementing security tools, managing access levels for accounts, and conducting enterprise-wide vulnerability assessments.

Prior to that, Ryan served as a Cybersecurity Analyst at the Arizona Department of Administration from July 2014 to July 2017. Ryan developed business plans and procedures for analyzing system vulnerabilities and guided vulnerability software purchases.

Ryan also worked as a Security Administrator at First Data Corporation from November 2013 to July 2014, where they created security keys and certificates for online retail sites to ensure PCI compliance.

Earlier in their career, Ryan gained experience as an Intern: Vulnerability Analysis at Peak Security, Inc. and as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Air Force from July 2005 to July 2011.

Ryan Ayres has a strong education history in the field of cybersecurity and business administration. Ryan completed a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, they also pursued a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from the same university from 2015 to 2017. Prior to their Master's degrees, Ryan Ayres obtained a Bachelor's degree in Network Security and a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering from the University of Advancing Technology, which they completed from 2011 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Ryan Ayres has also obtained two certifications. Ryan obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in January 2021. Prior to that, they obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from GIAC Certifications in September 2019.
