Roger Taylor is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in research, governance, and data ethics. As co-founder and director of research at Dr Foster from 2000 to 2015, Taylor contributed significantly to health data analysis. Taylor served as Chair at Ofqual from 2017 to 2020 and at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation from 2018 to 2021, where focus was on the implications of artificial intelligence for the UK government. In addition, Taylor held roles as National Professional Advisor on Intelligence for the Care Quality Commission, Consultant for The Careers & Enterprise Company, and Chair for the Open Public Services Network at the Royal Society of Arts. Prior experience includes journalism at the Financial Times and current advisory work with Accenture on its Responsible AI programme. As an Hon. Professor at the Centre for Data Futures at King’s College London, Taylor continues to engage in innovative ways to promote beneficial competition and data governance. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and a Master of Science in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London.
