Eric Griggs, MD

Eric Griggs, MD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Eric currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Community Health Affairs at Access Health Louisiana, where they are responsible for developing and implementing programs that address the needs of underserved populations and improve overall community health. Prior to this role, they worked as the Director of Community Medicine and later as the Community Medicine Liaison at Access Health Louisiana.

Dr. Griggs also holds a position as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Eric is involved in teaching and preparing students for careers in public health, with a focus on global community health and behavioral sciences.

Additionally, Dr. Griggs has served as a National Advisory Board member for the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network. Eric has also worked as a Medical Contributor for the Black News Channel, where they contributed to programming aimed at informing and empowering the African American audience.

Eric Griggs, MD, attended the University of Notre Dame from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English/Pre-professional Studies. Eric then went on to attend Tulane University School of Medicine from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained their Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) degree.

Following their medical degree, Dr. Griggs completed a Transitional Residency Program in Family and Community Medicine from 1996 to 1997 at Tulane University School of Medicine.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Griggs has obtained several additional certifications. In 2021, they obtained a Certificate of Completion in Community Based Prevention Marketing and Introduction to Social Marketing from the South Florida College of Public Health. In 2020, they obtained a Certificate in Essential Epidemiologic Tools for Public Health Practice from Johns Hopkins University through Coursera.

Furthermore, Dr. Griggs has received various certificates of participation and achievement from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in areas such as COVID-19 prevention and response, infection control, communication for public health professionals, and contact tracing for COVID-19.
