Karen Tamley

President and CEO at Access Living

Karen Tamley has a strong background in disability advocacy and accessibility. Karen currently serves as the President and CEO of Access Living since March 2020. Prior to this, they were a Presidential Appointed Public Board Member at the US Access Board, where they also served as the Elected Chair from March 2019. In 2008, they became a Board Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Pace Suburban Bus, and held this position until January 2020. From 2005 to 2020, they worked as the Commissioner of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities at the City of Chicago. Before that, they were the Director of Programs at Access Living from 1996 to 2005, where they managed various advocacy and service initiatives for people with disabilities.

Karen Tamley obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 1985 to 1989. Additionally, they attended the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where they completed the Multi-dimensional Leaders Institute and received a certificate.
