Sara Ismail is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in public policy and education. Currently serving as State Policy Manager and previously as Public Policy Associate at ACCESS - Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services since September 2020, Sara focuses on advancing MENA inclusion within Michigan's state and local policies, particularly in areas such as education, health, and racial equity. Additionally, Sara has held roles as an Adjunct Faculty member at Macomb Community College, a Research Assistant and Community Liaison at the University of Michigan, and a Student Assistant/Interviewer at Wayne State University, where involvement included various studies for the Michigan Department of Education. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Political Science/Public Administration and a Master's in Dispute Resolution from Wayne State University, as well as a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has been serving the community for more than 47 years. Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1971 out of a storefront in Dearborn’s impoverished south end, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in the United States. Today, ACCESS is the largest Arab American community nonprofit in the United States. With 11 locations and more than 120 programs serving metro Detroit, ACCESS offers a wide range of social, economic, health and educational services to a diverse population.
