Nicole Van Der Tuin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Nicole is currently a Mentor at Techstars since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Analytics Officer at Accion Opportunity Fund starting in 2021. In 2011, they co-founded First Access, where they held the positions of Co-Founder & Board Chair until the present and Co-Founder & CEO from 2011 to 2021. Nicole also served as a Board Member at Boost Capital starting in 2021. Additionally, Nicole Van Der Tuin has been involved with organizations such as Unreasonable and The Aspen Institute. Their earlier experience includes working at Endeavor Global, Positive Planet, PlaNet Finance China, and Diverso Global Strategies in various roles.

Nicole Van Der Tuin has a diverse educational background. Nicole began their higher education journey in 2003 at Kenyon College, where they pursued a bachelor's degree with the highest honors. Their major at Kenyon College was a synoptic major, which included cultural anthropology, economics, and writing. Nicole successfully completed their degree in 2007.

Continuing their educational pursuits, Nicole Van Der Tuin attended Tsinghua University in 2007 and 2008. During this time, they focused on studying Mandarin Chinese.

In 2006, Nicole Van Der Tuin also had the opportunity to study at the School of International Training in Brazil. This program gave their insights into culture, development, and social justice, with a focus on the Portuguese language.

To further enhance their knowledge in the field of public administration, Nicole Van Der Tuin enrolled at Columbia | SIPA in 2010. Nicole dedicated two years to studying economic development and statistics, leading to the completion of their Master of Public Administration degree in 2012.
