Björn Knittel

Managing Director at Accordion

Björn is a Managing Director with nearly two decades of experience in supporting public and private companies with financial accounting and reporting matters across various industries including technology, telecommunication, media, industrial manufacturing, and retail and consumer. Throughout his career, Björn has worked with global teams in multiple countries and is a subject matter expert in US-GAAP, IFRS, Sox, and SEC reporting. At PwC, Björn also supported global engagements including managing teams in South America, Europe and Asia. His experience spans from the review of a company’s control environment over the adoption of new accounting standards, to the assessment of one-off accounting matters such as business combinations, joint ventures, and other complex structures.

Before moving to the US, Björn worked in Germany – helping companies on public company IFRS reporting, local GAAP financial statements, and US-GAAP reporting packages.

Björn studied in Germany and the Netherlands and graduated from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin as a Diplom-Kaufmann (equivalent to a Master of Business Administration) majoring in Financial Accounting and Entrepreneurship with a thesis on “Relevance of Financial Accounting Data for Financial Analysts”.
