Accountability Counsel
Caitlin Daniel has had an extensive career in the legal field, starting as a Law Fellow at Accountability Counsel in January 2012. Caitlin later went on to work as an Associate at CPG Immigration Law Group before returning to Accountability Counsel as a Volunteer Attorney at LAHURNIP. Currently serving as the Communities Co-Director at Accountability Counsel, Caitlin has also held various other roles such as Senior Communities Associate, Staff Attorney, and Interim Communities Director. With a J.D. from the University of California, College of the Law and a B.A. in Italian Studies and Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara, Caitlin's diverse educational background has equipped their well for their responsibilities in the legal and human rights sectors.
Accountability Counsel
Accountability Counsel amplifies the voices of communities around the world to protect their human rights and environment. As advocates for people harmed by internationally financed projects, we employ community-driven and policy level strategies to access justice. We assist communities to effectively use accountability offices to remedy and prevent harm caused by global projects. We advocate for accountability offices that are accessible, independent, transparent, fair, and effective tools for justice. We provide trainings and tools, conduct research, and track trends within the accountability field to foster the global movement.
