Accountability Counsel
Lani Inverarity has a strong background in law and human rights, with experience working with international financial institutions, multinational corporations, and communities affected by environmental and social harm. Lani currently serves as the Director of Programs & Strategy at Accountability Counsel, where Lani oversees various programs and initiatives aimed at promoting stakeholder engagement, human rights compliance, and environmental sustainability. In addition, Lani has served as the Acting Executive Director at the organization, successfully managing organizational matters and fundraising efforts. With a Master of Laws from Yale Law School and a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington, Lani brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their role.

Accountability Counsel amplifies the voices of communities around the world to protect their human rights and environment. As advocates for people harmed by internationally financed projects, we employ community-driven and policy level strategies to access justice. We assist communities to effectively use accountability offices to remedy and prevent harm caused by global projects. We advocate for accountability offices that are accessible, independent, transparent, fair, and effective tools for justice. We provide trainings and tools, conduct research, and track trends within the accountability field to foster the global movement.
