Luis Flores is a senior technical director who provides technical support to initiatives around the world focused on increased trade and sustainable farming systems. Prior to joining ACDI/VOCA in 2022, Luis managed and supported efforts related to sustainable agriculture value chain development in East and West Africa, Central Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Over more than 20 years, he has built a strong network made up of private sector organizations, bilateral and multilateral donors, and public sector agencies aimed at improving economic growth and sustainable development. He has also built international, multicultural teams who work to help resource-constrained farmers access markets. Initiatives led by Luis have been financed by USAID, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and private sector organizations. He holds an MS in agricultural economics and a PhD in agriculture and resource studies with an emphasis on international development from Michigan State University. Luis is fluent in Spanish, English and French and is proficient in Haitian Creole.
