Manuel Bustos Rodríguez is a professor of Modern History at the University of Cádiz. He has been Director of the University School of the Virgen de Europa Professorship, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and Director of the Department of Modern History at the University of Cádiz. Professor at the Universities of Seville, Cádiz, Louvain, Sorbonne, Bordeaux, Hamburg and San Juan (Argentina). He is currently a member of the Academic Commission at the EIDEMAR International Doctoral School on Marine Studies.
Awarded with the National Prize for the best co-edition (2005) and the Gaditano de Ley Prize (2007). He has also been the director of 13 doctoral theses and currently directs another four. He has six six-year periods for research and five for teaching (maximum allowed by law).
He was Diocesan Delegate of University Pastoral (Diocese of Cádiz and Ceuta), Patron of the San Pablo CEU Foundation and Secretary of the ACdP of the center of Cádiz. Director of the Diocesan Institute of Theology (Cádiz-Ceuta).
He was director of the Royal Hispano-American Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, and is currently a full member of the Academy of Europe based in London and of the History of the Church of Andalusia, as well as a correspondent of the National Academy of Bordeaux and from that of San Romualdo. He is the author of numerous chapters in collective works, of articles in specialized magazines and of 16 books as sole author, as well as a member of the editorial or editorial board of several scientific journals.
