Kris Richards has extensive work experience in various industries, including information technology and education. In 1993, Kris started working as a High School Teacher at Gunnison High School. In 1996, Kris became a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University, where they worked until 2000. From 2000 to 2008, Kris worked as an Engineer at Sun Microsystems. In 2006, Kris joined Vista Computational Technologies as a Senior Engineer and worked there until 2010. Kris then moved on to Frontier Charter Academy in 2009, where they worked as a Teacher until 2013, teaching subjects such as AP Computer Science and AP Calculus and handling IT responsibilities. From 2011 to 2018, Kris worked for JMA-IT as a Senior Java Architect, primarily as a contractor for USDA OCIO. Finally, in 2018, Kris joined Ace Info Solutions LLC as a Senior Java Software Engineer.

Kris Richards pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Western Colorado University from 1987 to 1992. During this time, they studied Math, Physics, and Computer Science. Following this, they enrolled at Colorado State University and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics from 1996 to 1998. Continuing their academic journey, Kris completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics at Colorado State University from 1998 to 2001.
