Cdr Abhishek Kankan

Cdr Abhishek Kankan has extensive work experience in various sectors. Cdr Abhishek started their career in the Indian Navy, serving onboard submarines and later taking on leadership roles as Senior Engineer and Head of Marine Engineer Officer. During their time in the Navy, they were responsible for strategic decision making, HR management, and operational execution. Cdr Abhishek then transitioned to the defense industry, working at DRDO as a Deputy Project Manager, where they were involved in advanced classified projects and documentation preparation. Afterwards, they worked at Larsen & Toubro as a Senior DGM and Head of Tunneling, overseeing the construction of tunnels for water transportation. Cdr Abhishek also worked at Michigan Engineers Pvt. Ltd. as a General Manager, leading micro-tunneling projects and implementing process excellence. Most recently, they joined Ace Pipeline Contracts Pvt. Ltd. as Vice President (Projects), where they are responsible for managing pipeline projects and expanding the business by exploring new geographies. Additionally, throughout their career, Cdr Abhishek Kankan has been involved in corporate training and coaching, designing programs to enhance performance and build synergies among team members.

Cdr Abhishek Kankan has an extensive education history that spans various degrees and certifications. Their education journey started with schooling at St Thomas in Kolkata, where they completed their 2nd to 5th standard. Cdr Abhishek then attended TAPS (The Army Public School) in New Delhi, where they completed their 12th standard in Science.

After completing their schooling, Cdr Abhishek Kankan pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. Cdr Abhishek attended the university from 1989 to 1993, focusing on their field of study.

In 2002, Cdr Abhishek Kankan enrolled in Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies and obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MDBA) with a specialization in Personnel Management. Cdr Abhishek spent four years at the institute, from 2002 to 2006.

To further enhance their management skills, Cdr Abhishek Kankan pursued a Certification in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. Cdr Abhishek completed this program from 2013 to 2014, focusing on the field of Management.

In 2007, they attended DSSC, Wellington (Uni of Madras) and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Defence & Strategy. This program lasted for a year, ending in 2008.

In 2018, Cdr Abhishek Kankan pursued a Certificate in APEPE (Advanced Programme for Excellence in Project Execution) from Cranfield School of Management. The program lasted for a year, concluding in 2019.

In addition to their degrees, Cdr Abhishek Kankan has obtained a certification in Project Execution and Control from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign through Coursera. Cdr Abhishek completed this certification in February 2022.
